Drinking Age: 21?

age-21

Many believe that the legal drinking age of 21 has resulted in dangerous, off-road damage. Even Dr. Morris Chafetz, who founded the National Institute for Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse, said he reluctantly supported the recommendation but that “legal age 21 has not worked.”

Weighing in on the issue personally, I can tell you that in my high school and college experiences, the legal drinking age did not stop anyone from drinking. Also, it seemed that the students who were actually responsible about drinking (i.e. not getting wasted and causing serious trouble) were the ones who got busted for drinking quietly in their own dorm rooms.

What do you think of drinking age of 21? Any other better solutions?
