2012, Think It’ll Ever Happen?
Be warned, the end of the world is approaching! Three years later, the unexpected disaster will strike with lashing of nature’s fury, human civilization will come to an end and the earth we’ve been standing on will shatter under the weight of our irresponsibility. Our cities will crumble as our culture grinds itself to dust.
Yes, it’s the movie 2012, which is based on an old Mayan prophecy that the world will end on the 21st of December 2012. Though the film itself is not well plotted, just like Roland Emmerich’s other movies, first class escapism, clunky dialogue and blanket absurdity, the CG work and stunt coordination are worth to take a look. So when you are watching this movie, switch your brain off and let your eye enjoy the ride, giant cracks open up in the earth’s surface, mountains turns to volcanoes and skyscrapers turn to ash, and eventually tidal waves cover the entire earth’s surface.
Personally I’m not crazy about prophecies, and I don’t deny ghosts or any other extraterrestrials existed either, because there are too many things and phenomenons human being still can’t explain. What I’m saying is always keep your mind opened, the screenplay of 2012 didn’t just come out of thin air, maybe the chaos is not coming in 2012, but it will come, and in a different way, if we don’t shoulder up our responsibilities and keep polluting our air and consuming our resources ruthlessly.

When I was hurt in that car accident my life would be changed forever. Sadly that driver had no car insurance and I was going to be hurting for ever.

Well according to many scholars nothing at all. There are some references to something happening about that time in inscriptions, but nothing really concrete, so it’s surprising just how much fuss 2012 seems to be generating.
